So, I’m still in the process of unpacking and organizing things in the apartment, but I’m sure you’re curious as to what I got myself into. Before I left, lots of friends were extremely concerned that I would get seriously screwed over in the apartment department, as I’d never seen or visited the area or the town or the neighborhood or the apartment complex or the apartment itself before I packed all my stuff up, drove for 3 days straight, and signed the lease and moved in. I must say, I did really well for myself, as far as I can tell now. If issues crop up during my year lease, I will definitely start looking into other places (there are SO MANY living communities here, as this is a “college town” for a major university).
So, I’ve got some pictures from before I moved anything into the apartment and I’ll put them in now. Once I have everything unpacked and pretty-fied and whatnot, I will upload new pictures with everything in its place.
Standing in the dining room, looking into the living room & the front door.
Standing in the living room, looking at the dining room.
The bar in the dining room that looks into the kitchen. 🙂
Right side of the kitchen. (You can see the bar there.) Also, that little wall behind the sink leads to a super secret path between the kitchen and the dining room. Hehe.
Bedroom, toward closet, from inside.
Bedroom, with closet door open.
Hallway. Kitchen is first door on right, then bedroom is first door on left, then bathroom is second door on right. The door straight back is a closet that houses the hot water heater.
Bathroom. Nice & spacious and a big mirror.
First thing I wanted to do when I saw I had a bar was to climb on and sit on it. So I did.
The back of the car as we were unpacking it (had already taken out 2-3 boxes plus a few other things that were stashed in the back).
The top of the car (all my clothes were in bags inside the rooftop carrier).
Passenger’s side before we unpacked it. That little nook is where my duffel bag with my traveling clothes fit in.
Driver’s side back seat. More stuff.
Massive pile of stuff after unloading the car.
Another angle on the pile of boxes & bags that were emptied out of the car.
Home sweet home. I’m on the second floor there (with my cute little balcony/patio area).
